is a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki based off of a book of the same titleI have not read this book. by author Eiko Kadono. Nested between the film's beautiful animation and loveable characters is a coming-of-age story about learning to accept your own identity, and all of the flaws that comes with it, that helped me come to understand and accept a lot of stuff I had going on at the end of my high school days. While that time has long since passed, the film still holds a place in my heart as one of my favorite movies, and I have a feeling that as I get older it will still have a lot of things to teach or remind me about life, as most Ghibli films do.
